Rabbi Tovia Singer’s Response to a Muslim’s Question Shatters a Central Christian Doctrine

Responding to a Muslim caller, Rabbi Tovia Singer explores unused ancient Jewish floor plans for the third and final Temple, which are found in chapters 40 – 47 of the Book of Ezekiel. These passages clearly state that the sacrificial system, including the sin and Passover offering, will resume upon the rebuilding of the Temple. If, as Paul claims, Jesus was the final sacrifice “once and for all” (Romans 6:10), and the animal sacrificial system was merely a temporary “foreshadowing” of Calvary (Hebrews 10:18), why will animal sacrifices be restored during the messianic era? Why will the sin sacrifice return in the End of Days if Jesus died for the sins of the world? Moreover, why would Jesus have to bring a bull as a sin offering in the future Temple (Ezekiel 45:22) when Church teachings clearly state that Jesus was sinless, and was himself the sin sacrifice? Why would the messiah have to bring a lamb offering (46:4), if, as the New Testament insists, Jesus was himself the lamb offering?
