Torah Pearls – Season 2 – Chukat

This weeks parasha is named chukat, which means laws or judgement. It is in this portion of Torah that Moses was told to make a serpent and put it up on a pole. Whoever was bitten by the plague of serpents that G-d had previously sent, would be healed by looking at this  bronze serpent. ToThen the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.” – Numbers 21:8
